In December, a couple of experimental workshops (that we called EduCamp) were held in two Colombian cities. The goal of these workshops was to explore the use of social software tools in education, while getting each participant to think about his or her own personal learning environment. It was a different, innovative format (even for Stephen Downes, the international guest who helped us kickstarting them).
By changing the format and promoting an unstructured, demonstrative experience, unexpected possibilities were enabled for teachers:
We realized we were making visible for everyone (at least those initial 217 participants!) important elements of social networked learning!
